- Lisa S. Casey - Wonderful Diary of English Countryside AdventuresI have admired Ms. Branch's work for about 12 years (when I found her through crafting). I have most of her books and they are all lovely. However, this one, she outdid herself. Her detailed writing and drawings/paintings of her adventures are heartwarming. Several years ago I had the pleasure of staying in a cottage for a week in the English countryside and so wish I had kept a detailed diary. Her personal writing style took me to there, standing in the gardens of Sissinghurst, having tea on a rainy afternoon, exploring Jane Austen's home in Chawton, sailing on the Queen Mary 2. Her personal accounts are funny, touching and inspiring. This is one of the best travel memoirs I have ever read.
- garteful mom "grateful mom" - itworksI just want to add my results to the many reviews for this book. My daughter, 6 y.o., has guttate psoriasis for almost 8 months now. Right when she was diagnosed with it I asked the dermatologist what I could do about her diet. He said nothing. We went to a total of 4 dermatologists and they all said the same thing. The last doctor speiciailized in pediatric dermatology gave me three choices for treatment: UV light, methotrexate, or biologic injections, besides the high potency steroid creams that she prescribed. At first the creams worked great but as all psoriasis patients know that oftentimes their efficacy wears off. I was so desperate about the "incurability" of this disease. I found this book on Amazon. I read and reread the book and decided to call Dr. Pagano to get clerarer instructions since I was going to be trying it on a little girl. He gave some helpful suggestions and assured me that if I follow through, my daughter will see results. I started the diet in mid December 2008. After 2 weeks, I started to see a flareup. I was very worried but Dr. Pagano warned that a purging reaction may happen. I started giving the slippery elm , saffron tea, and lecithin after 1 month of the diet (January 2009). After 2 months of the complete regimen, her scalp is now clear and the lesions on her back, chest, bottoms are almost gone. The areas on her legs and arms are fading away. If you are a parent of a child that suffers any diseases, I'm sure you know how ecstatic I felt! I don't use any drug right now on my daughter. It's such a good feeling to be able to not have to put any harmful medication on a little child. I just wanted to write this for other parents who are searching for a treatment for their children. The diet is difficutle for a picky child but the results are worth it. Your child may lose some weight but hopefully with time she will see that it's a lifestyle that will give her clear skin and be able to wear clothes that she likes instead of trying to cover all the red spots.
- C. McGrady - Mom approved! (For my "Baby-Led Weaning" baby)First of all, I would definitely recommend this chair for the quality and reasonable price!
I decided to do "Baby-Led Weaning" with my little lady. (See the link below if you're interested in this no-stress, no-fuss approach to allowing your baby to eat in a very natural and fun way!) Regardless, it was quite important for her to have a high chair or comfortable seat that puts her up to the table no matter where we are eating so that she can pick up her foods and put them in her mouth. After carting our pretty huge high chair to my mom's house a few times for short stays she suggested that I find a travel high chair and I'm so glad she did! I found this one here and couldn't be happier.
We use it everywhere... Grandma's house, the mexican restaurant, Chick-fil-a, even at the fine dining restaurants we have been able to take her to because she's a pleasure to have at meal times!
We also get positive comments on the chair often and my husband even asked me, "Where did you get this thing?" :)
About the chair: I love that it has a pocket on the back for a bib and the handy attached carry case is awesome! The chair is very durable, strong, and fairly easy to disassemble to wash. Although I have never had to wash it because it wipes cleanly fairly easily with a wet dish cloth and sometimes lay it in the sun to dry out well. Eventually it will have to be tossed in the washer, however, and I'll update my review if I see problems, but I really don't forsee that happening because the chair is so well made.
She really enjoys the seat and it is worth a few minutes of preparation to use it. I have found that you can turn the clamps very quickly by just spinning them with a quick hand and then when you are tightening it it takes a bit more of a grip. I haven't run into a table yet that it wouldn't attach to, and it always feels very stable when installed.
